Into the Flame...

New Studio! - Captain Cook, Hawaii.

One of my favorite places in the entire world is where Tim Friesen Glass Studios now calls home. Being close to my beloved ocean and it's coral lined bays which are frequented by dolphins and whales (amongst many other creatures) turns me on artistically like nothing else.

The colors, forms and liveliness of this underwater kingdom translate well into glass as I can bend form and shape it as I wish.

If you're in the area and interested in my glass work, please let me know. You can call me or send me an email and I'd love to share with you my glass creations. I have many pieces that are available for immediate purchase if you are wanting to take home a keepsake of your journey to Hawaii, or we can custom design a glass creation to your specific liking.

Big Island Hawaii - Kohala Hub Arts Center - Artist in Residence Program

I'm very excited to have been chosen as the first artist in residence at the emerging "Artist in Residence" program at the Kohala Hub Arts Center. The facility will feature art demonstrations and art exhibitions of fine artists from around the islands.

Initially, I have been commissioned by the founders to create a Grand Chandelier and Sconce sets for the main entrance to the art center - whoo-hoo! The lighting will be unique and will follow the decorative theme of "Hawaiiana" to match the style of the renovated interior of the building it will be housed in.

European Space Agency Glass Exhibit.
September 16 - 20th, Noordwijk Netherlands.

To say the least, I was very excited to be invited to ESA for a one-man art exhibition to showcase my works. Diverse nationalities and the most incredible minds on the planet stopping in made this a fun and rewarding week for sure. For the show, I created a few space related pieces, along with my ever popular, vortex infinity glass marbles.
